Position Overview
St. Francis Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and organized Food Services Director to oversee the daily operations of the St. Francis Cafeteria, which serves students from both St. Francis Elementary and Archangels Catholic High School (ACHS).
This leadership role is responsible for all aspects of the school lunch program, including meal preparation, staff supervision, compliance with federal and state nutrition program regulations, budgeting, ordering, and food safety. The Food Services Director ensures that nutritious meals are provided in a safe, welcoming, and faith-centered environment that supports the mission of our Catholic school community.
Primary Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Operations
- Oversee all daily operations of the St. Francis Cafeteria
- Coordinate and manage lunch service using a rolling schedule
- Plan and prepare nutritious, appealing meals appropriate for elementary and high school students
- Ensure efficient kitchen workflow and timely meal service
- Order food, supplies, and equipment while maintaining budget awareness
- Maintain accurate inventory and organized storage systems
Federal Lunch Program Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and all applicable federal and state regulations
- Maintain accurate daily meal count records by required categories
- Complete and retain production records documenting menu items, portion sizes, and quantities prepared and served
- Ensure menus meet USDA meal pattern and nutrition requirements
- Maintain required temperature logs, sanitation logs, and food safety documentation
- Prepare and organize documentation for state administrative reviews and inspections
- Participate in required training related to school nutrition program compliance
Food Safety & Sanitation
- Implement and monitor HACCP-based food safety procedures
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and serving areas
- Ensure compliance with Nebraska health department regulations
Staff Supervision & Team Leadership
- Supervise, schedule, and support cafeteria staff and volunteers
- Provide training in food safety and service procedures
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and respectful work environment
Catholic School Mission
- Support and uphold the Catholic identity and values of St. Francis and ACHS
- Promote a welcoming cafeteria atmosphere rooted in kindness and Christian hospitality
- Interact with students in a patient, respectful, and professional manner
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service, kitchen management, or institutional food preparation
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
Preferred:
- Experience in a school nutrition program
- Knowledge of National School Lunch Program requirements
- ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous supervisory experience
Work Schedule
This position follows the school calendar and operates Monday–Friday during school lunch service hours. Limited summer responsibilities may apply depending on program needs.

Part-time Cook

This position supports the Food Services Director in preparing nutritious meals and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming cafeteria environment consistent with the values of our Catholic school community.
Primary Responsibilities
Meal Preparation & Service
- Assist in preparing and cooking daily lunch items according to planned menus
- Follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines
- Help coordinate meal service during a rolling lunch schedule
- Assist with accommodating food allergies and special dietary needs as directed
Food Safety & Sanitation
- Follow HACCP-based food safety procedures
- Maintain proper food handling, storage, and temperature control
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and serving areas
- Complete required temperature and sanitation logs as assigned
Kitchen Support
- Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, baking, and assembling meals
- Support inventory organization and food storage
- Wash dishes and maintain organized workstations
- Work collaboratively with cafeteria staff to ensure smooth daily operations

- Interact with students in a friendly, patient, and respectful manner

Qualifications
Required:

This position plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment that supports safe and efficient meal service.
Primary Responsibilities
Dishwashing & Sanitation
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and effectively
- Ensure all items are properly cleaned and stored
- Maintain cleanliness of dish area, sinks, and surrounding workspace
Kitchen Clean-Up & Support
- Assist with sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and general kitchen cleaning
- Help maintain organized storage areas
- Support kitchen staff as needed during lunch service

Safety & Compliance

Student Support and Academic Specialist
St. Francis Elementary School is seeking a compassionate and student-centered educator for the 2026–2027 school year. The individual will support the academic, social–emotional, and personal growth of all students and collaborate closely with staff and families to promote a positive and faith-filled school climate. This individual will work closely with classroom teachers coordinating support activities, managing student performance data, and handing functions related to curriculum and student academic progress.
Responsibilities
- Provide short-term individual and small-group counseling to students
- Support students with social skills, problem solving, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation
- Develop and deliver classroom guidance lessons (e.g., friendship, bullying prevention, goal setting, decision making)
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address student needs
- Help coordinate Student Assistance / MTSS / intervention supports as appropriate
- Promote a positive school culture aligned with the mission and values of St. Francis Elementary School
- Use student and class data to track performance
- Assist with the coordination and interpretation of various student assessments to inform instructional decisions
- Prepare academic reports
- Assist with crisis response and provide support during challenging situations
Qualifications
- This position may be filled at different qualification levels, depending on the background, credentials, and experience of the selected candidate. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, licensure, and experience:
- Certified Teacher
- School Counselor / Guidance Counselor
- Principal / Administrator
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in a resource or academic role.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to partner with teachers, parents, and administrators to solve complex student needs.
- A high degree of professionalism, including the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and healthy boundaries within the school community.
- A deep commitment to nurturing the spiritual, academic, and socio-emotional well-being of every student in alignment with our school’s mission.
- Strong organizational skills and the leadership capacity to manage student support plans and academic interventions effectively.
